MORE ABOUT US

1.  The Root Cause

While recovery from addiction serves as the primary focus of the program, we recognize that the addiction itself is a symptom of a much deeper hurt. We try to explore and address the root cause of the problem through individual counseling, healing prayer, a unique Christ-centered curriculum, and the Celebrate Recovery program.

2  The Biblical Approach

In attacking the root cause of addiction, we examine 4 topics that are essential in identifying emotional scars. First is generational sin. These are specific areas of sin that seem to be inherited within a family from one generation to the next. Second, soul / spirit hurts are those emotional scars that we have experienced that often times influence to engage in behavior that we often would otherwise avoid as a means of escape. Third are ungodly beliefs. Ungodly beliefs often manifest themselves in a way that leaves an individual believing that they “aren’t good enough” or a “failure.” These are often referred to as distorted ways of thinking. This type of negative thinking contradicts Ephesians 2:10 that declares that we are individually God’s masterpieces. Finally, we explore demonic activities that we may have knowingly or unknowingly engaged in that have an influence on our behavior.

3.  Cost

Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry believes that all who truly want help for addiction should be able to receive it. People who have been enslaved by addiction often have little or no resources to get help. For that reason and because we are a ministry, with a sliding scale for participation. All of our staff are volunteers and have a calling for this ministry. We also have scholarships available. It is our desire not to let money be the obstacle that prevents healing from addiction. Those who truly want help but can’t afford it should not be excluded.

4.  The Individual’s Identity in Christ

Every individual is God’s creation and is a masterpiece! (Ephesians 2:10). We treat each man as an individual with their own unique life experiences and set of circumstances. We are not a one-size fits all ministry and we certainly do not believe one’s identity comes from their addiction. Instead, we help men find their individual identity in Jesus Christ.

5.  Healing Prayer

Every man has the opportunity for individual prayer sessions at our House of Prayer. Here, men and their hurting families can find healing from their soul / spirit wounds with the assistance of our prayer team.   Our Prophetic Ministry Team are people who are pursuing The Holy Spirit and His gifts with passion.
